Describe what you do?

As a raw chef, for the past few years I’ve been helping people who are eager to improve their health and embrace a raw food approach to cooking and eating. I do my best by teaching how to prepare delicious and nutritious raw vegan gourmet cuisine.

How did you get started with the raw foods lifestyle and how did you get to become a Certified Raw Food Chef?

Being introduced to a raw vegan lifestyle several years ago after attending a raw desserts class, 
I developed both a passion for supporting local organic farmers, and a palate for eating healthful foods prepared mainly from raw fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts.

As a graduate of the inaugural class of professional chefs at the 105degrees Academy (now known as Matthew Kenney Academy), I also earned both my Associate Chef/Instructor certification and my advanced Professional Culinary Arts Instructor Training at the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute. A Living Foods Nutrition certification from the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute along with hands-on experience previously gained from many years of following a vegetarian, macrobiotic, and vegan lifestyle have allowed me to provide a well-rounded perspective and holistic approach in my teachings.

Much of my life has been a journey of reclaiming my body, learning how to listen to its cues, and learning how to love myself in the body that I have.

Who are your clients exactly?

My clients are those who have a vision of themselves as being more comfortable in their body, balanced, energetic and joyful, but they’re having a hard time reclaiming that part of themselves because of the reality of a leading a very busy lifestyle. They have tried lots of things that haven’t worked for them, and they are tired of using their own trial-and-error system, and then beating themselves up because of the things they’re trying aren’t working.

Some of my clients work with me because they need something more than books, magazines and friends for support. They’ve had trouble implementing changes they know they should make. My clients mainly struggle with their weight, energy level, sugar cravings, and inflammatory issues, and they simply want to be happy with the way they’re eating and living. They want a completely different approach–without deprivation or hunger.

What happens if you haven’t yet worked with people like me?

I have to share with you that if I haven’t worked with people like you, you are not at a disadvantage, quite the contrary. Here’s why: What my clients have found exceedingly helpful is that I bring an extremely fresh perspective and give them resources. Because of this, they are better equipped to take the next step towards leading a happy, healthier, and more energized life.

How are you different from other “raw food chef-instructors?”

Although we will occasionally touch upon detoxing and cleansing, you have me as an expert Raw Food Chef-Instructor and consultant. I work with those who are seriously committed to learning and investing in themselves. What that means to you is that I am very focused and what you get with me is no-nonsense, undiluted expertise on what works best for you. I’ve received professional culinary training and have simply become an expert at this stuff, and that’s why my clients get great results (and I throw in a healthy dose of compassion, humor and encouragement, which ALWAYS helps!).

Lastly, I’m a soulful and spiritual person. I bring this depth to everything I do, and invite you to step in to the fullest expression of you!

What’s your philosophy and process in teaching about the raw foods lifestyle?

I provide specific lifestyle recommendations to help you achieve your goals and feel more confident in your body. I empower you by educating you about whole foods that are nutrient rich, and share cooking tips and recipes that allow you to easily and quickly prepare delicious home-cooked meals.

I offer a natural and health-supportive approach to wellness and make it fun to get healthier. I open your eyes to a world of healthy, delicious food possibilities. I introduce you to foods you’ve never tried before. My recommendations are easy and fit into the life of a busy person.

We will explore how various aspects of your life affect your food choices and overall wellness. I will teach you how to listen to the cues of your body and pay attention to what your body is saying so that living a healthy lifestyle comes from within instead of being externally imposed.

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?

People who are absolutely excited and serious about the raw foods lifestyle and ending what I call “the 3:00 a.m. sweats”, meaning, not waking up in the middle of the night anymore saying, “How will I ever know what to prepare to stay raw, lose weight, and stop my food cravings?” My private instruction sessions are created for you to put systems in place immediately, which will eventually lead you to experiencing a major shift in your well-being within a few days (not months).

Being a high achieving go-getter myself, I’m known to work best with other high achieving go-getters who are super-ready to get going and just want to know exactly what steps to take. No excuses anymore, just a very different way of thinking and full support while you achieve this incredibly exciting goal: to learn how to prepare mouth-watering, healthy meals, consistently and in record time.

What type of person is this NOT going to work for?

I welcome many types of people and prefer to work with those who are seriously committed to their wellbeing, are open-minded, and who take responsibility for themselves and their actions. Overall positive-minded people will get the best results from The Raw Palate®.

What I teach will not work for someone who wants or needs to be told exactly what to eat, down to the calorie count and grams of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.

I choose not to work with people who aren’t willing and ready to invest in themselves financially with time and effort, or are unwilling to make changes to their current lifestyle.

Why should the raw foods lifestyle be important to me?

It’s perfectly reasonable and realistic to expect to see and feel noticeable changes physically in as little as 24 hours after eating raw foods. Here are just a few more major benefits to eating this cuisine:
