Who Am I?
Raw Food Chef-Instructor, Helen Castillo, is director and founder of The Raw Palate® , a living foods lifestyle organization she established to educate others on the benefits of healing the body naturally through better food and lifestyle choices.
Being introduced to a raw vegan lifestyle several years ago, Helen developed both a passion for supporting local organic farmers and a palate for eating healthful foods prepared mainly from raw fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts.
The professional culinary training Helen’s acquired along with hands-on experience previously gained from having followed a vegetarian, macrobiotic, vegan, and now a live foods diet, have allowed her to offer added value to other people’s lives. |||

In my personal life, I’ve worn many hats where I’ve been able to easily transfer my skills to meet the needs of my clients. For example, my roles as a performing artist and professional chef have both taught me about careful planning, precision in execution, artful presentation, and the importance of working with grace under pressure while meeting important deadlines. While volunteering for worthy causes has enabled me to honor diversity and foster team spirit, being an educator has groomed me to express complex ideas in laymen’s terms and disseminate information to others clearly. As entrepreneur and biodynamic farmer, my responsibilities have allowed me to demonstrate the value of leading with integrity and the significance of going ‘green’ while being mindful of the ‘bottom line’. — Helen Castillo
